All Elite Wrestling has signed a number of former WWE stars over the last few years, but it doesn’t seem like all of them are happy with how they’ve been booked.

It was recently reported that at least one AEW wrestler requested to be released from the company, and now Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. is reporting that the wrestler was none other than Malakai Black. According to the report Black asked to be released due to concerns regarding his mental health and handling of his character. It was also noted that Malakai Black’s release request has not been granted.

Malakai Black joined WWE in 2016 and later made his debut in NXT in 2017 under the name Aleister Black. He joined the main roster in 2019, but was released from WWE in June of 2021. He went on to debut with AEW in July of 2021 where he currently works as a member of the House of Black stable.

This weekend Malakai Black will be in action when House of Black faces off against Sting, Miro and Darby Allin at All Out. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
