The semi finals of the WWE United Kingdom tournament started with Pete Dunne versus Mark Andrews. Pete Dunne looked ready for business and Mark Andrews looked like he just played a set with his band at a local punk club.
Both of these men had extremely different styles from each other, and Dunne took an early size advantage by grounding Andrews with a headlock but Andrews eventually caught his opponent with an arm drag which sent Dunne toppling outside. Andrews executed a flip over the ropes on Pete Dunne which sent the “bruiserweight” crawling around the ring until Andrews threw him back inside.
The two ended up outside once again and Dunne attempted to stomp Andrews’ hand on the steps when Mark Andrews countered with an impressive hurricanrana out of nowhere. They returned the ring and after a little bit of business Andrews ends up capping off their sequence with a double stomp on to Pete followed by double knees in the corner and a northern lights suplex. Mark Andrews executes a beautiful standing aerial maneuver on to a laid out Pete Dunne to get a close two count.
Dunne rolled out of the ring to catch his breath and Andrews went for another flipping moonsault maneuver when the “bruiserweight” caught him and sent him into the side of the ring apron. Pete Dunne maintained his control by executing a malicious looking move onto the entrance ramp way. Andrews barely rolled back into the ring in time before the referee got to his 10 count.
Pete Dunne went for another power move, but Andrews countered it with a stundog millionaire. The two competitors eventually made their way to the top turnbuckle when he done was sent to the floor after some punishing forearms. Andrews went for a shooting star press but Dunne got his knees up and blocked it which he followed up with a close two count.
Dunne attempted a bitter end but Andrews reversed it. Mark Andrews rolled Dunne up with a close roll up pin. Dunne suplexed Andrews into the turnbuckle and followed it up with a bitter end for the win. This was at hard-fought match and both of these competitors certainly made an impact in this tournament.
