It was recently reported that Vince McMahon sent out an email reminding WWE talents that they must sever unauthorized deals with third-party platforms such as Twitch and Cameo by October 2.

It was also reported that WWE will be taking over Twitch accounts, and giving talents a percentage of the revenue, which will count against their downside guarantee.

Former Presidential candidate Andrew Yang has been very critical of the third-party edict, and he recently took to Twitter to note that he’s been in contact with WWE talents.

According to Yang, the talents are claiming that the company is forcing performers to sign new contracts that will include Twitch. Per the stipulations of the contract, Twitch will become a work obligation, and talents will face suspension or other penalties if they don’t stream. Andrew Yang posted the following:

“Hearing from talent that WWE is forcing performers to sign new contracts that include twitch. Streaming on twitch will become a work obligation and if talent doesn’t stream they will forego earnings, be suspended or face penalties. Doesn’t sound like independent contractors.”

Stay tuned for updates.
