Over the last few years quite a few WWE Superstars had their names shortened to one word, but since Triple H has taken over many of them have gotten their full names back. Matt Riddle and Austin Theory are just two examples. However, now it seems that WWE has shortened the name of one Superstar as Ava Raine is now simply listed as Ava on WWE’s website.

There’s currently no word on why WWE made the change, but the commentary team started referring to the former Ava Raine as Ava during this week’s episode of NXT.

Ava is of course Simone Johnson, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The wrestling world had an interesting reaction when she took on the name Ava Raine last year, so it will be interesting to see how fans react to this new shortened version of her name.
