Over the last few months fans have seen a number of NXT stars receive name changes after getting called up to the main roster. LA Knight was called up and renamed Max Dupri and in recent weeks he’s been the key figure in the Maximum Male Models storyline.
However, PWTorch is now reporting that the Maximum Male Models will continue without Max Dupri. The report noted that Max rubbed some people the wrong way and wasn’t fitting in, so Vince McMahon made the decision to write him out of the storyline a few weeks ago.
Max knew last week that he was making his final appearance when he promoted the arrival of his sister Maxine on this week’s episode of SmackDown. On Friday night it was revealed that NXT star Sofia Cromwell will play the role of Maxine Dupri on the blue brand.
There’s currently no word on what WWE has planned for Max Dupri moving forward. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
