Over the last few months fans have seen some interesting WWE departures, and recently there’s been a lot of talk about MVP’s status. It’s been reported that his deal is set to expire in August, and MVP has seemingly been teasing his WWE departure with his social media posts.
On Sunday, MVP made a surprise appearance at a Bloodsport event and he confronted Josh Barnett who grabbed a mic and told MVP that he’s curious to hear what he has to say. He then handed the mic to the former WWE United States Champion. MVP said he’s been friends with Josh Barnett for a long time then confirmed that his WWE contract is set to expire soon.
“My contract with a company who I won’t mention right now is about to expire, and I’m not going back Josh. I’m not ready to retire yet!”
MVP went on to challenge Josh Barnett to a match at a future Bloodsport event. Barnett said he’d be happy to have MVP in the ring and shook his hand. He then told MVP, “This is the land where The Hurt Business cashes the most checks.” Barnett told MVP that he can come alone, or with a posse, and that he’ll be happy to see him, and anyone else he might bring.
It’s also been reported that Bobby Lashley’s contract is set to expire soon. It’s rumored that MVP and Lashley could reunite with former Hurt Business stablemate Shelton Benjamin who is still a free agent, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
Stay tuned for updates.
