This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was filmed in Barcelona, Spain and aired live for international Netflix users. The show featured the following matches and segments:
– Show kicks off with Jade Cargill, B-Fab and Michin. They cut a promo in the ring and Rhea Ripley interrupts. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair come out to back her up leading to a match between Jade Cargill and Alexa Bliss
– Jade Cargill vs. Alexa Bliss: Jade picks up the win over Alexa Bliss with Jaded then hits her with Jaded on a steel chair after the match.
– Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes talk backstage. Zayn tells Cody that he didn’t help him when he was getting choked out by Gunther last week because he thought Cody needed to learn a lesson.
– Backstage Nick Aldis says that Danhausen’s experiment equipment got held up at customs, so he wants him to appear in front of the audience. Danhausen asked about his experiments, and Aldis told him to improvise. Miz tried to get Nick Aldis to postpone his match with Axiom because Kit Wilson wasn’t there, but Aldis declined. Danhausen was moving equipment into a room in the background.
– The Miz vs. Axiom: Miz went to the top rope, but got distracted as the lights flickered. Axiom followed up with a Spanish Fly and Golden Ratio to win the match.
– Backstage R-Truth tells Damian Priest that he got Royce Keys to be his tag team partner. Priest questioned if he could trust Keys.
– Sami Zayn was talked to Johnny Gargano when Matt Cardona arrived to set up a match between Cardona and Zayn.
– Charlotte Flair checked on Alexa Bliss in the trainer’s room. Rhea Ripley told Charlotte she’ll handle Jade. Charlotte said if she doesn’t then Jade has a receipt coming.
– Damian Priest & Royce Keys vs. Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga: Solo Sikoa hit Priest with a Samoan Spike while the referee was distracted. R-Truth came down to even the odds. Truth and Solo battled on the outside and Keys tried to help Truth, but he was attacked by Tama Tonga. Talla chokeslammed Priest inside the ring and pinned him to win the match.
– Sami Zayn vs. Matt Cardona: Zayn picked up the win over Matt Cardona after he connected with the Helluva Kick.
– The Miz threatened to sue Nick Aldis. Danhausen continued his experiments and used a fire extinguisher on Miz.
– Tiffany Stratton told Chelsea Green she’s not going to be in her corner.
– Trick Williams and Lil Yachty cut a promo in the ring and Trick declared for the King of the Ring tournament. Carmelo Hayes returned and interrupted. Melo told Trick that King of the Ring is grown folk business, and he’s too little. He said that after he takes care of Ricky Saints he’s going to be challenging Trick Williams for the United States Championship. Ricky Saints interrupted and also indicated he’s coming after the US Title. Trick slapped Ricky Saints.
– Carmelo Hayes vs. Ricky Saints: Saints and Hayes were battling on the outside when the referee counted to ten. The match ended in a double count out and Saints attacked Hayes while Hayes was arguing with the referee. Hayes hit the First 48 on Hayes then stood tall.
– Nia Jax & Lash Legend confront Tiffany Stratton. Nia tells Tiffany it’s a good idea for her to not be in Chelsea’s corner tonight. Lash said once they’re done with Chelsea it’s only a matter of time before the Women’s United States Championship finds a new home.
– A Blake Monroe vignette aired. She teased a potential feud with Rhea Ripley.
– Nia Jax vs. Chelsea Green: Tiffany Stratton came out while Lash Legend was distracting the referee and hit Nia Jax with the Women’s United States Championship. Chelsea then pinned Nia to win the match.
– Cathy Kelley interviewed Paige & Brie Bella backstage. Fatal Influence interrupted. Jacy Jayne declared for Queen of the Ring.
– Cody Rhodes made his entrance and the fans continued to sing his song after it stopped playing. He started to cut a promo, but Gunther quickly interrupted. Gunther told Cody he’s an entitled brat, and he has to protect this sacred sport from people like Cody. The American Nightmare told Gunther that at Clash in Italy he’s going to find out that he’s not that good. Cody tried to leave and Gunther grabbed him. Gunther said he promised to choke out, Goldberg and AJ Styles, and he promised to make John Cena tap out and he did. He promised Cody that he would choke him out on Sunday. Gunther walked off as the show came to an end.
