The last few weeks have been full of exciting moments and the stars of NXT stepped into the spotlight recently at the Vengeance Day premium live event.

During the show Fraxiom successfully defended the NXT Tag Team Championship against Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura. After the match a mysterious new group appeared and laid out both teams before leaving. The masked men appeared again later in the night when they hit a four-way Shield style powerbomb on Oba Femi following Femi’s NXT Championship defense against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

The mysterious group had been teased for weeks on TV and fans immediately started comparing them to groups like RETRIBUTION and The Shield when they debuted. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE’s goal with the group is to try to remake The Shield.

Originally The Shield debuted in 2012 and they immediately started targeting the top stars on the main roster. WWE appears to be taking a similar approach with the new group as fans saw at Vengeance Day when they hit Oba Femi with the four-way Shield powerbomb.

The new group consists of Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin. As of right now there’s currently no word on what name they will be using moving forward.
