It’s been a big year for Edge as he returned during the 30 man Royal Rumble match, and he punched his ticket to WrestleMania when he won it all. The Rated R Superstar then went on to face Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns in a triple threat match for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 37, but it was Reigns who walked out with the belt.
Edge hasn’t competed since WrestleMania 37, but SummerSlam is right around the corner, and the former WWE Champion is expected to make his return to WWE programming next month.
WrestleVotes is reporting that Edge will be staying on the SmackDown side when he returns to TV, and that current plans call for him to face Seth Rollins for the first time ever at SummerSlam.
It’s been reported that WWE wants to make SummerSlam a WrestleMania worthy event, and it’s also been rumored that John Cena vs. Roman Reigns is being planned for the show.
Along w/ Roman Reigns vs John Cena for SummerSlam, WWE is planning on stacking the SmackDown side with another major matchup. Source says idea as of now is for a Seth Rollins vs Edge first time ever match.
