Business is picking up on the road to WrestleMania 41. However, there are still a number of big names who are currently sitting on the sidelines such as Asuka who has been out of action since May of 2024.
Fightful Select reports that creative plans have been discussed for Asuka’s return. It was noted that a potential tag team match option was pitched for her return, but the idea was shot down.
As of right now there’s been no word on whether or not Asuka has been training at the Performance Center recently. Exact plans for Asuka’s return are unknown at this point, and it has not been confirmed that she will be appearing in the women’s Royal Rumble match on Saturday.
Asuka last wrestled at the Backlash premium live event in France when she teamed up with Kairi Sane to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Asuka and Sane ended up dropping the titles and it was revealed shortly after that Asuka had undergone successful surgery for a knee injury.
