Since All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 a number of former WWE stars have joined the company. In more recent years times have changed and fans have seen more AEW stars jump ship to WWE.
Over the last few months names like Penta, Ethan Page and Ricky Saints have all joined the company. Last summer it was reported that WWE had interest in bringing in The Lucha Bros. While Penta has quickly become one of the most popular stars on Raw, Rey Fenix is still with AEW as his deal was extended due to injury time.
Earlier this month AEW released a number of interesting names such as Miro, Malakai Black and Ricky Saints. It was also reported that Rey Fenix was considered for a release, but so far nothing is official.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is making plans for Rey Fenix. However, there has been no confirmation that Rey Fenix has been released from his AEW contract at this point in time.
There’s currently no word on what WWE might have planned for Fenix if he does join the company, but judging from the way the company has used Penta it’s probably safe to say that he would also be featured in a similar manner.
