The Undertaker may be retired now, but throughout the course of his in-ring career The Deadman picked up his fair share of victories. It was always shocking to see another WWE star pin The Undertaker, and Matt Hardy did just that when the two stars faced off in a Falls Count Anywhere match on SmackDown in 2002.

While Matt Hardy and The Undertaker were brawling backstage Brock Lesnar appeared out of nowhere to deliver the F5 to Taker. Matt Hardy then took advantage of the situation when he pinned The Undertaker to secure the victory.

During a recent episode of his Extreme Life podcast Matt Hardy discussed how the finish came together, and he noted that Vince McMahon was adamant he should pin The Undertaker.

“Even the time where I had the Falls Count Anywhere match with ‘Taker, there was one point where ‘Taker said, ‘Well, what if we did this? Maybe the finish could be this.’ [Vince McMahon said] ‘I don’t care what we end up doing as the finish, but Matt Hardy has to win this because I wanna keep moving him up. He has to win this match. He has to pin The Undertaker when it’s all said and done.’”

During this week’s episode of NXT, The Hardy Boyz made their big return to WWE when they picked up a win over No Quarter Catch Crew. It was also confirmed that The Hardys will be defending their tag team titles against Fraxiom next month at Roadblock.
