Steve Austin retired following his loss to The Rock at WrestleMania 19 and for years he remained adamant that he wouldn’t be returning to the ring. However, Austin returned to the ring earlier this year at WrestleMania 38 when he faced Kevin Owens on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Now that Austin has come out of retirement fans have been wondering if he could wrestle another match and it sounds like WWE is trying to make it happen.
Fightful Select is reporting that WWE wants Steve Austin to do more with the company. It was noted that the Vince McMahon regime hoped to get Austin back for another match, and the Triple H regime actually made Austin an offer for another match.
Sources that spoke on the situation weren’t sure if the offer was for a match in Saudi Arabia, at WrestleMania, or for something else, but an offer was made. It’s presumed that the offer was for a match at WrestleMania 39 next year, but Austin’s potential opponent is unknown. It was also indicated that initially WWE and Steve Austin were far apart on terms.
