Ronda Rousey is set to make her big WWE debut when she teams with Kurt Angle to take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H on Sunday, and the world will be watching as she puts her wrestling skills on display.
Before the match was officially confirmed, there were a lot of rumors going around in regards to who Rousey’s partner could be, with The Rock being the top choice, but ultimately the spot went to to Kurt Angle.
It was recently reported by the Wrestling Observer that Bautista was in talks with WWE about potentially teaming with Rousey, but no other information was given.
Now Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Batista had lengthy talks with WWE about working the match, with the idea that it could plant a seed for Batista vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 35, and that the talks went well.
Batista last talked with WWE in January, and had a strong feeling that he was going to be booked for the match, but he didn’t hear back from Triple H or anyone else in WWE after that.
Angle was later announced as Rousey’s partner, but according to the report, WWE didn’t reach out to Batista to let him know that plans had changed.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has openly said that he would like to return to WWE, and that he hopes to feud with Triple H in the future, but it seems that WWE officials don’t want to see that match happen as much as he does.
