Since AEW launched in 2019 fans have seen a number of former WWE stars jump to the company, but Cody Rhodes got the wrestling world talking last year when he jumped from AEW back to WWE. Now it seems that WWE has their sights set on another one of AEW’s top stars.

Fightful Select is reporting that several people in WWE believe the company has a chance to land Kenny Omega. It’s being said that Kenny Omega has a positive relationship with WWE despite the rivalry between the two companies.

Omega discussed the possibility of joining WWE in 2018 with Triple H, but ultimately chose to sign with AEW. It was also noted that although there have been heavy accusations of contract tampering from AEW, WWE sources don’t believe that was the case with Omega.

It’s believed that Kenny Omega signed a four year deal with All Elite Wrestling when he signed in 2019 which means his contract could be up soon. However, numerous sources in AEW have claimed to have overheard Tony Khan say that there could be time added to Kenny Omega’s AEW contract due to the time he missed while he was injured.

The option to extend the deal due to injury is part of Kenny Omega’s contract, but one talent noted that it might not be a slam dunk because Omega has good representation. Those who Fightful spoke to in AEW said that they don’t believe the time has been added yet. It was also noted that Kenny Omega has it in his contract that he’s allowed to appear in NJPW as long as it doesn’t conflict with his AEW duties.
