A good gimmick can go a long way in professional wrestling and there’s no denying that Bray Wyatt’s Fiend character was one of the most talked about gimmicks in years. Wyatt returned to WWE last year, but he has not competed as The Fiend since he was released from the company in 2021.
So far Bray Wyatt has only wrestled one match on TV since he returned as he defeated LA Knight in a Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble. After the match Bray and Uncle Howdy continued to attack Knight as Bray debuted a new mask.
Fight Fans is reporting that WWE wasn’t overly fond of how things played out with the Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble and the debut of the new masked Bray Wyatt character that appeared during the match. A source noted that the company felt the character wasn’t as good as The Fiend and wouldn’t sell as much merchandise as The Fiend.
WWE was reportedly pushing hard for The Fiend to return after the Royal Rumble, but talks stalled. It’s not clear at this point in time when Bray Wyatt could be returning to TV, but talks of bringing The Fiend back have picked up again.
