In the professional wrestling business trademarks are filed all the time for catchphrases, nicknames, and many other things. Recently Christian Cage attempted to trademark the name “Captain Charisma” but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE opposed the trademark.
Christian has used the name Captain Charisma throughout his career. However, it doesn’t sound like he’s going to be able to use the name anytime soon due to WWE opposing the trademark.
Following his surprise return at the 2021 Royal Rumble, Christian signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling a few months later and since then he’s been regularly featured on AEW programming.
Back in August, Christian Cage earned the right to challenge for the AEW World Championship when he won the Casino Gauntlet match at the All In pay-per-view.
Last weekend Jon Moxley successfully retained his AEW World Championship in the main event at Full Gear, but he was attacked by Christian Cage after. Christian attempted to cash in his title shot on Moxley before Jay White came out to make the save.
