Over the weekend at NXT Takeover: Chicago, Tommaso Ciampa shocked the NXT Universe by turning on his friend and partner Johnny Gargano after a big loss to The Authors of Pain. Ciampa brutalized Gargano as the show went off the air, which is expected to be the beginning of a very important feud for the two stars in NXT.

It was rumored, but still, a genuine surprise when Tommaso turned on Johnny because a lot of fans believed WWE officials might bring Gargano and Ciampa to the main roster as a tag team. Clearly, the powers that be have something else in mind for the former NXT Tag Team Champions, but there is also a specific reason why they split them up last night.
It’s being reported by the Wrestling Observer that the reason why Ciampa and Gargano were split up and will be feuding in NXT for the next couple of months is WWE officials have plans to bring both men to the main roster.
But, they didn’t want them to be a tag team on the main roster.
WWE officials see a lot of potential in them as singles stars on Raw and SmackDown Live.
Gargano was a top guy baby for the Ohio groups.
