money in the bank

The WWE women’s division has come a very long way over the past few years. For starters, the ladies of the WWE are no longer referred to as divas, they’re women, and they’ve been given excellent opportunities.

The women of the WWE have broken new ground over the past few years thanks to the Women’s Revolution, and nowadays it’s not uncommon to see women work in the main event on Raw or SmackDown Live. The women of the WWE even main evented a main roster pay-per-view when Sasha Banks faced Charlotte in the first ever women’s Hell in a Cell match last fall.

Now the ladies of the WWE are set to make history once again, as Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE officials are planning the first ever women’s Money in the Bank match for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view next month.

According to the report, if everything goes as planned, the match will be announced sometime over the next few weeks.

Given that Money in the Bank is a SmackDown Live exclusive pay-per-view, the match will feature stars from the SmackDown roster, but as of this writing there’s no word on who will be included in the match.

This year’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view is set to air live on the WWE Network on Sunday, June 18.
