All Elite Wrestling was only announced a few months ago, but WWE has made it abundantly clear that they have their eyes on the company.
WWE has been trying to lock their Superstars into longer contracts, and they’re also not releasing talents who request to be let out of their contract at the moment.
Now it seems that WWE has taken another step to put distance between their talents and AEW.
NXT UK talent Toni Storm wrestled at a Stardom event recently, and she was supposed to face Bea Priestly who recently won the World of Stardom Title on May 16. However, Stardom announced on Twitter that due to circumstances beyond their control the match has been canceled.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was WWE who cracked down on the match as the company refused to let the NXT UK Women’s Champion face a wrestler from AEW.
It was noted that WWE likely took issue with the match because Priestley would have had to win.
For the upcoming Korakuen Hall show on May 16, the previously announced match between Toni Storm and Bea Priestley will not take place due to circumstances beyond our control. Thank you for undestanding.
