Throughout the history of WWE there are many premium live events that have become iconic and many could argue that King of the Ring fits that description. WWE recently announced that the first ever King and Queen of the Ring event would take place from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27, but it appears that plans have changed.
Recently WWE confirmed via social media that the King and Queen of the Ring event has been renamed and it will now be known as Night of Champions.

WWE Night of Champions is a name that the company used from 2007 through 2015 for an annual premium live event. In 2016 the event was renamed Clash of Champions and ran as such through 2020. The idea behind the show is typically to highlight title matches, although in the past the show has also featured matches that don’t involve titles.
There’s currently no word on why the name of the show was changed, or if WWE plans to reschedule King and Queen of the Ring. Stay tuned for updates.
