Roman Reigns has been one of the most dominant champions of the modern era and he’s been carrying both the Universal Championship and WWE Championship for some time now. Reigns is about to cross 1,000 days as champion and ever since he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 he’s been billed as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Reigns had been listed twice in the Champions section on WWE.com as Universal Champion and WWE Champion, but WWE recently made a big change. Now The Tribal Chief is only listed once as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion which could be an indication that the two belts are now looked at as one championship as opposed to two.

It’s worth noting that WWE also made the same change for Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn who were previously listed as Raw Tag Team Champions and SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Now they are simply listed once as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

This change makes sense for Reigns as WWE recently introduced the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt, but there’s currently no word on whether or not WWE has plans to introduce new tag team belts.

The Tribal Chief will have a chance to win more championship gold when he teams with Solo Sikoa to challenge Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at Night of Champions later this month. Stay tuned for updates.
