Fans have seen a lot of wrestlers who made name for themselves on the independent circuit go on to find success in WWE, but many of them never return to the indies. However, there seems to be at least one wrestler on the WWE roster who is interested in returning to where he came from.
Kevin Owens recently spoke to Corey Graves about the possibility of returning to the indie scene on the After The Bell podcast, and he noted that it’s something he would love to do.
“I am very deeply rooted in the independent scene, that’s where I came up. I still have so many friends there and there’s a few wrestling companies, independent companies that I hold very near and dear to my heart that I would love to maybe one day show back up on one day just for fun, whether it’s a promo or maybe it’s a match.”
The former Universal Champion went on to say that a return to the indies feels possible when he added, “It feels like more of a possibility than ever,” Owens said. “It doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen, but it feels like it could now, and that’s very exciting for everybody.”
