The wrestling world lost another legend on Sunday, as WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka passed away after losing his battle with stomach cancer. In response to Snuka’s death WWE has issued the following statement:
WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has passed away.
Snuka is regarded by many as the pioneer of high-flying offense because of his Superfly Splash from the top turnbuckle. His dive off the top of the steel cage onto Don Muraco at Madison Square Garden as hundreds of flash bulbs went off will forever live as one of the most memorable moments in WWE history. WWE extends its condolences to Snuka’s family, friends and fans.
On Sunday Jimmy Snuka’s daughter and current WWE Superstar Tamina Snuka shared a photo on Instagram confirming that her father had passed away.

Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka inspired a generation of wrestling stars, and Jimmy Snuka’s now infamous Superfly Splash from the top of the cage had a huge impact on the life of WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley.
