roman reigns

For years now Roman Reigns has been one of WWE’s top stars, but the work he’s been doing since he returned at the SummerSlam pay-per-view has become a very hot topic in the professional wrestling community.

The Tribal Chief has been receiving a lot of praise over the last few months, and during a recent appearance on The Bump JBL had major praise for the current Universal Champion.

JBL noted that he’s been impressed by Roman, and event went as far as to call him the most compelling character he’s seen in 20 years.

“I think the thing that has impressed me by far, and anything I’ve seen in the last 20 years, is Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns, to me, is the most compelling character I’ve seen on television in 20 years. It’s unbelievable how good of a character he is. The way it’s just transitioned and becoming this head of the table – I’m a huge fan.”

At Survivor Series Roman Reigns went head to head with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a non-title match, and Roman was the one who picked up the big win. According to JBL he thought the match lived up to the hype.

“To me, it lived up to every bit of the hype, which is hard to do when you talk about having a true heavyweight matchup like they did,” he noted. “You had two great champions, and both of those guys are in the prime of their lives and the best conditions in their lives. I don’t know if everyone expected something that great, but that match was outstanding.”
