There was a lot of anticipation heading into the WrestleMania 40 press conference in Las Vegas on Thursday night and the event really got the wrestling world talking.
WWE assembled a panel consisting of Michael Cole, Big E, CM Punk and Pat McAfee to discuss the show before some of the company’s top stars hit the stage, and at one point Michael Cole said that Pat McAfee is undefeated at WrestleMania.
Pat McAfee competed in the ring at WrestleMania 38 a few years ago and he managed to pick up a big victory over Austin Theory. However, immediately after he defeated Austin Theory, Pat McAfee was challenged to an impromptu match with Vince McMahon and McAfee accepted the challenge. In the end Vince McMahon picked up the win over his opponent after he punted a football at McAfee and pinned him.
Judging from Michael Cole’s comments about McAfee being undefeated it appears that WWE will not be acknowledging his match with Vince McMahon moving forward. This of course isn’t surprising as the company has been erasing references to Vince McMahon due to the allegations made against him.
Vince McMahon’s profile was erased from WWE’s official website last month following his resignation from TKO, and it was reported last week that Vince is under federal investigation.
