WWE has parted ways with a number of people over the last few years and earlier this year the company cut ties with William Regal. Following his WWE departure Regal ended up joining All Elite Wrestling and he’s been working with some of the top stars in the company ever since.
William Regal was at one point a key figure in Triple H’s regime, and now that Triple H is in charge of creative for the main roster it seems that there’s interest in bringing Regal back into the fold.
Dave Meltzer addressed William Regal’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that he wouldn’t be surprised to see Regal return to WWE when his AEW contract is up as the idea has already been discussed. However, it’s believed that William Regal signed a one year deal when he joined AEW and that he still has several months left on his contract.
William Regal has been involved in one of AEW’s top storylines as of late as he gave MJF brass knuckles during the Full Gear main event which allowed MJF to defeat Jon Moxley and become the new AEW World Champion. Stay tuned for updates.
