Brock Lesnar was defeated by Oba Femi in the opening match at night 2 of WrestleMania 42 and the wrestling world has been talking about Lesnar ever since.

After the match Brock took his boots and gloves off, left them in the ring, and seemingly retired as he said goodbye to the fans while walking up the ramp. Following the show there’s been a lot of speculation regarding whether or not Brock Lesnar has truly retired, or if he could return for another match.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that most in the company believed what happened at WrestleMania was not Brock Lesnar’s retirement, and nobody would confirm if it was indeed a true retirement.

The Observer notes that they were outright told to treat it as an angle, including from the person who warned them to treat Seth Rollins’ injury from last summer as an angle. It’s being said that Brock Lesnar’s stuff is always secretive by design

It was originally reported last year that Brock Lesnar was set to retire in 2026. However, most had expected The Beast Incarnate to retire at SummerSlam since it’s in Minneapolis this year.
