General Managers have become quite common in WWE. Kurt Angle is the GM of Raw, Paige is the GM of SmackDown Live, Drake Maverick is the GM of 205 Live and William Regal is the GM of NXT.
Now WWE is making moves in the UK, and the company has announced that Johnny Saint will be the General Manager of the United Kingdom brand going forward.
Saint has more than five decades of experience and is considered to be one of the pioneers of the UK wrestling scene.
Johnny Saint spoke to WWE.com and commented on the opportunity the brand will present for wrestlers in the United Kingdom.
“For the guys who are in the wrestling scene here in the U.K., the worldwide exposure is a wonderful thing,” Saint said. “It’s something that we never really had before, so the new product is going to be tremendous for them.”
WWE will be returning to London next week for the second United Kingdom Title Tournament which is set to be taped at Royal Albert Hall on June 18th and June 19th.
The tournament will air the following week on the WWE Network in two parts on Monday, June 25th, and Tuesday, June 26th, at 3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. GMT.
