It’s been a big year for Roman Reigns as he successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event at WrestleMania 39, and he celebrated 1,000 days as champion a few weeks ago. It’s never too early to start talking about WrestleMania 40 and it looks like WWE already has plans in place for The Tribal Chief.

This weekend Money in the Bank aired live from London, England and Cody Rhodes picked up a win over Dominik Mysterio at the event. After Money in the Bank, Cody spoke at the post-show press conference and he made it clear that he still intends to finish the story by winning the WWE Championship.

It looks like The American Nightmare could be getting another shot at The Tribal Chief next year as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns is the current plan for WrestleMania 40.

“His storyline is that the belt that his father didn’t win – which is apparently Roman’s belt – that’s the one that’s the story. So basically, he almost has said it’s next year’s WrestleMania, which is the plan right now.”

The night after WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes confronted Roman Reigns and requested a rematch, but his request was denied. Now it seems that Cody could be getting his rematch on the Grandest Stage of Them All next year.
