A lot of big moves have been made in the wrestling world over the last few weeks and Ricky Starks was released from his contract with All Elite Wrestling. Shortly after he was released Ricky Starks made his debut on NXT, but fans quickly noticed that his name was not mentioned during the broadcast.
During last week’s episode of NXT, Ricky Starks appeared in the ring as he prepared to sign his NXT contract. After a few interruptions Ricky finally signed his new contract, and it was revealed at the end of the segment that he would be known as Ricky Saints moving forward.
PWInsider reports that the situation with Ricky Starks changing his name to Ricky Saints was simply a case of WWE wanting to have a ring name that they could trademark themselves.
Ricky Saints officially made his in-ring debut with NXT during this week’s episode when he teamed with Je’Von Evans to defeat the team of Ethan Page and Wes Lee. Even though Ricky’s name has been changed his arrival in NXT has been made out to be a big deal in recent weeks, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
