A few weeks ago the King of the Ring tournament officially kicked off and a number of top stars entered the tournament in hopes of earning a guaranteed title shot at SummerSlam. Ultimately Oba Femi defeated Jey Uso in the finals to become the new King of the Ring.

On the following episode of Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar returned and challenged Oba Femi to a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam. Femi accepted the challenge and told Raw General Manager that the titles can wait.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the decision was always for Oba Femi to win the King of the Ring tournament then turn down his title shot at Roman Reigns for a match with Brock Lesnar.

The idea was to set up Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi as the biggest match possible. It’s not clear at this point in time if WWE will be saving the Reigns vs. Femi match for WrestleMania.

It was also noted that Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi seems to be the hottest program in WWE right now based on YouTube numbers and crowd reactions. Currently betting odds have Femi as the favorite to beat Lesnar at SummerSlam with Femi at -1500 against Brock Lesnar at +600.

Stay tuned for updates.
