On Sunday night the stars of WWE battled on the Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 35, and Rey Mysterio challenged Samoa Joe for the United States Championship.
The match didn’t last long, and unfortunately for Rey he walked away empty handed because Samoa Joe put him away with the Coquina Clutch in one minute.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rey was unable to work a longer match because of his ankle.
The former WWE Champion suffered an ankle injury during his match with Baron Corbin on Raw this week, but his US Title match at Mania moved forward was advertised.
