This week’s episode of SmackDown Live featured some surprise appearances from Raw Superstars, one of which was Drew McIntyre.
Drew teamed up with The Bar to take on The New Day in the main event on Tuesday night, but during the match Drew mysteriously disappeared.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Drew didn’t get hurt, and he was actually booked to exit the match.
The idea was that Drew McIntyre needed to be protected because they want him to be a top guy, and he lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania on Sunday.
It was decided that The Bar would be losing the six man tag team match, and WWE officials didn’t want Drew McIntyre at ringside for the loss.
