Roman Reigns shocked the world when he announced on Raw that he was dropping the Universal Title to focus on his battle with leukemia.
Since then people from all throughout the wrestling community, and beyond, have come forward to show support for Roman Reigns.
Not many people knew about the diagnosis ahead of time, but it’s being reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon found out on 10/18.
It wasn’t until the next morning that key people were informed so that they could start coming up with plans in regards to what the company should do in Roman’s absence.
Vince McMahon was not at Raw this week, but he did make moves during the day so he could inform people who needed to know about Roman’s diagnosis.
It’s believed that Triple H, Kevin Dunn, Mark Carrano and writers Dave Kapoor & Ed Koskey knew about the diagnosis ahead of time.
Roman was kept on a bus all day at his own request, but about an hour before the show Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins were told that Reigns would be vacating the title, and everything would be explained in the ring.
Roman Reigns reportedly told them to be ready to come out when his promo was over, but neither of them knew what he was going to say.
