Vince McMahon has been making headlines in recent months as he officially resigned from WWE after a former employee filed a lawsuit accusing him of abuse. A statement was issued on behalf of McMahon noting that he intended to fight the lawsuit, but McMahon has been quiet in recent months.
NBC News and CNBC are now reporting that they spoke to 11 people who declined to be named that are familiar with Vince McMahon and how he’s been spending his time. According to multiple WWE insiders Vince McMahon hasn’t had any contract with company leaders following his resignation. Sources have said that Vince McMahon has not talked to Triple H or Stephanie McMahon about matters relating to WWE.
Two sources claimed that Vince has kept up with his other routines and is unfazed by his legal fights. Vince reportedly returned from a trip to Turks and Caicos in March and brought back seven kittens and a puppy which were to be adopted by friends. One person said that Vince is “enjoying life” and has also taken a trip to Italy.
Following his resignation Vince McMahon has reportedly been in contact with The Rock and John Cena. However, a spokesperson for The Rock declined to comment on those claims and a representative for John Cena did not respond to requests for a comment.
It was also noted that Vince McMahon’s old office at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT is unoccupied, but still intact. One unnamed executive called the unoccupied office “spooky.”
One employee commented on the environment following Vince’s departure from WWE and said, “WWE is actually a really great place to work, and Vince distracted from that. It’s been much better since he left.”
