CM Punk’s AEW contract was officially terminated back in September which has led to a lot of speculation about Punk returning to WWE, but it doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now.

Fightful Select reports that the internal line on CM Punk returning to the company is “not as of right now.” Earlier this month WWE higher ups denied that CM Punk had signed a deal with the company or that negotiations were ongoing.

It was noted that while no one was asked about CM Punk’s status following WWE Fastlane, Triple H and a number of stars were prepared to answer. It’s also being reported that some stars were prepped for questions on CM Punk.

Even though no one in WWE asked about Punk, the line internally would have been that there’s no ill will between the two sides, the possibility of Punk returning is always there, but that negotiations aren’t ongoing, and CM Punk isn’t planned for Survivor Series, so fans shouldn’t buy tickets expecting to see him there.

When WWE higher ups were asked on Monday if CM Punk returning was still a “firm no” it was confirmed that’s the case. Stay tuned for more updates on CM Punk’s status as they become available.
