Cody Rhodes left WWE months ago, but he hasn’t slowed down one bit.

After his departure Cody filled up his schedule and he’s been consistently working on the independent scene for the past few weeks, and he’s booked for quite a few events over the next few months.

Cody Rhodes wasn’t the only Rhodes to leave WWE. His wife Brandi also parted ways with the company to pursue other interests. While working as Eden in WWE, Brandi quickly made a name for herself thanks to her excellent ring announcing skills, and she isn’t letting those skills go to waste.

Over the weekend Cody Rhodes faced off against Sami Callihan at PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles, and before the match started he was introduced by her personal ring announcer Brandi Rhodes.

During the introduction Brandi referred to Cody as “the grandson of a plumber” and the crowd went wild. Shortly after they started to calm down, Brandi then referred to Cody as “the star that left them in the dust” which got a huge pop from the people in the audience.

The introduction is short and simple, but it’s awesome because you can feel the emotion in the room and you can check out Cody’s introduction in the video below.

Cody Rhodes defeated his opponent Sami Callihan, but he was later eliminated from the tournament by Marty Scurll during night 3 of the event.
