Fans see a wide variety of moves on WWE programming each week, but there are certain moves Superstars aren’t allowed to use. The Shooting Star Press is a move that has been used by various wrestlers over the years, but former WWE star Paul London had an interesting conversation with Vince McMahon after he used it.

During an appearance on Rene Dupree’s Cafe de Rene podcast Paul London claimed that he received a standing ovation from the locker room after he hit the move during a match with Nunzio on Velocity. However, Vince McMahon made it clear that he didn’t want London to use the Shooting Star Press.

“Vince was like, ‘If you start doing that move, other guys are gonna wanna start doing it, and Rey [Mysterio] is gonna start doing it.’ I was like, ‘Rey’s not gonna do that! Nobody’s gonna do that move. It’s my finisher.’ ‘Oh, so you want us to make an exception for you?’ Jesus Christ, it’s like I’m talking to a goddam mannequin.”

Paul London signed with WWE in 2003 and stayed with the company until he was released inn 2008. During his time with the company he managed to win the WWE Tag Team Titles three times and he had one run with the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
