The investor’s conference is a time to talk about the past, and hype the future. WWE had their quarterly Investor’s Conference and there were some pretty impressive numbers thrown around in regards to how well the company has grown as of late. Vince said that the WWE Network currently has 1.5 million paid subscribers, with 400,000 of those being international subscriptions.
It was said that international revenue is up 11% from last year up to a record $189.3 million. Their digital media views continue to grow as they were up 56% to account for 15.1 billion social media engagements.
Vince revealed that they had over 101,000 people in attendance at WrestleMania 32, although not all of those seats were paid tickets. McMahon acknowledged that the number included “ushers and ticket takers” which meant that it probably also included hot dog and merchandise stand workers as well as parking lot attendants (chalk that one up as a win for Dave Meltzer).
McMahon hyped the fact that Total Divas and Total Bellas are doing great on the E! network and have plans to continue putting out original programming in such a manner.
They also revealed that Snickers will once again serve as exclusive partner of WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. Therefore if you’re hungry for WrestleMania, grab a Snickers.
It was said the WWE is projecting another record year when it comes to revenue. They plan on investing in key aspects to continue the growth of the company to further engage audiences and provide an even wider range of programming content.
Vince put Triple H over big-time for his extensive work to grow WWE’s awareness overseas in the United Kingdom and beyond. He said that the UK talent could see themselves with a “European style show” soon.
Vince continued and said that they could do more live events and have more growth in the United Kingdom markets in the upcoming year. He acknowledged that this is their first attempt in doing such a thing, although they have used international talents before in WWE this is the first time they will be returning to their originating markets with those talents.
Vince was asked about WrestleMania 33 and how it compares to last year’s Mania. McMahon said that no one talent can keep “the big wheel turning” (Goldberg was specifically mentioned as part of the question). Vince explained that they also have more interest going in to this year’s event due to other factors like fewer injuries and more simultaneously operating story lines.
