The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Ring of Honor’s first live pay-per-view Best in the World did a little over 12,000 buys, which is up from the original rough estimate of 10,000. This means that ROH didn’t just break even with their first venture into live PPV but actually made some money. It’s also worth noting that the PPV did better than most TNA PPVs that have taken place over the last four years.
ROH are still looking for a new location for Final Battle but they want to hold the event in New York City. They have already gotten talents such as AJ Styles to agree to appear at the event and the goal is to make Final Battle an event worthy of the slogan, “the biggest event in wrestling.” Although ROH is still deciding on a venue, it’s worth mentioning that if they pick Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom the ticket prices will be increased significantly.
