Over the last few years WWE pay-per-views have expanded in a big way, and many fans have voiced their opinions on the shows being too long.

WrestleMania 36 was split over two nights this year, and fans seemed to agree on social media that it was easier to consume when the event was broken up into two shorter shows.

The Money in the Bank pay-per-view recently aired on the WWE Network, and that show was also praised for having a shorter length.

However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is no internal doctrine to keep shows a shorter length, there was just a decision made for that specific show.

Since most took the shorter length as a positive, it’s possible shorter shows could become the new normal until WWE Superstars are able to perform in front of fans again.

The next pay-per-view is WWE Backlash and it’s set to air on Sunday, June 14.
