Seth Rollins has been trying to talk Cody Rhodes into challenging him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, but it doesn’t look like that match will be happening.

On Thursday night WWE held the WrestleMania 40 press conference in Las Vegas and Cody Rhodes declared that he will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All for the second year in a row. Now fans are wondering where Seth Rollins will go from here.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the belief is Seth Rollins will be defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the winner of the men’s Elimination Chamber match which hasn’t been announced yet. The match could potentially be announced at some point in the coming week. Recently WWE has been teasing Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn as potential contenders for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Original plans called for CM Punk to win the men’s Elimination Chamber match in Australia to set up a match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, but Punk unfortunately suffered an injury during the 30 man Royal Rumble last month.
