A few weeks ago Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE and a new regime was put in charge. However, there are some people in the wrestling community who don’t believe that Vince is completely done with the company.

Fightful Select is reporting that several higher ups in WWE reiterated during SummerSlam week that Vince McMahon is not pulling the strings or running the show. One WWE source also indicated that Raw would be a statement show meant to establish who’s in charge.

One higher up reportedly said, “If Vince McMahon was still involved to any degree, neither Summerslam or WWE Raw would have resembled what they looked like. Dakota would not have been brought back, Raw would have been several Summerslam rematches.”

It’s also being reported that Triple H has already worked to make the environment better backstage. Vince McMahon has no say in WWE’s day to day creative and it’s rumored that he has limited access when it comes to information about the ongoing creative process.

A number of people have also confirmed that there are situations where they would normally need to wait for their bosses to get clearance from Vince, but that hasn’t been the case since he retired. There’s also word that Vince may have limited access to WWE facilities, but that has not been confirmed.
