It’s been a big month for Kevin Owens as he and Sami Zayn managed to defeat The Usos to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 39. However, it seems that Owens had a bit of an injury scare coming out the Fort Wayne, IN live event that took place over the weekend.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer daily update that Owens appeared to injure his ankle during the KO & Sami Zayn vs. The Usos match at the event. Multiple people reportedly brought up that it was hurt during the match and Owens was limping as he was helped to the back. Owens did return later in the show for the Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa main event.

Meltzer shared another update on Wrestling Observer Radio when he went on to say that Kevin Owens did work the following live event in Toledo, so he will likely be good to go for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Title match on Friday Night SmackDown.

“He worked tonight in Toledo, so he’s okay. He hurt it last night in Fort Wayne, but he’s okay. Like I said, he wrestled tonight, he did a run-in tonight, so good enough (for that). And he was not limping at the show tonight as far as I know. So he’s good to go probably for Friday’s tag team title match on SmackDown.”
