John Cena appearances on WWE programming are few and far between nowadays, but the former WWE Champion did make his return to the ring during the final SmackDown of 2022 when he teamed with Kevin Owens to defeat Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn.
There’s been a lot of speculation regarding John Cena’s status for WrestleMania 39, but if he does indeed work a match at the event it doesn’t seem like he will have much time to build it up.
Variety is reporting that John Cena and Zac Efron have arrived in Melbourne, Australia where they are set to film the movie “Ricky Stanicky.” According to the report production will take place through February and March.
WrestleMania 39 is set to take place on April 1 and April 2, so it doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing much of John Cena on the road to WrestleMania this year. WWE has yet to confirm that John Cena will be part of WrestleMania this year, but Austin Theory and Logan Paul are just two names that have been making the rounds regarding rumored opponents for Cena.
