You never know what might happen when you watch a wrestling show and this weekend the Backlash premium live event took place from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The show was full of surprises and it included appearances from Carlito and Savio Vega who both got involved in the Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest match.
Fightful Select reports that WWE sources were very happy with Carlito’s return. Several people have noted how much Carlito has matured since his last run with the company and also said that the reaction from the crowd was even better than WWE expected.
Over the last few years there have been numerous pitches to bring Carlito back to the company for runs or possibly full-time. As of this weekend Carlito’s appearance was just set to be a one off, but that could always change in the future.
Prior to his appearance at Backlash, Carlito last wrestled in a WWE ring on Raw in February of 2021 when he teamed with Jeff Hardy. He was also a surprise entrant in the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble match the night before.
