It’s going to be an interesting week for Global Force Wresting, that’s for sure. After suspending their World Champion Alberto El Patron in July due an incident involving Paige at the Orlando International Airport, the company announced today that Alberto has been stripped of the GFW World Championship.

Alberto joined the company earlier this year and he’s been featured as a top star up until he was recently suspended. It’s likely that GFW will be making an announcement regarding the future of the GFW World Championship soon, most likely at the Impact tapings this week.

GFW will be taping for several days starting on August 19, and it’s expected that the company will film enough footage to hold them over until Bound For Glory in November. F4Wonline.com reports that Bound For Glory main event plans are likely to change as Alberto is still suspended and isn’t expected to appear at the tapings.

Alberto was cleared of all charges in regards to the airport incident, but it’s being reported that his long term behavior has been a concern in GFW.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion John Morrison recently pulled out of a convention appearance in California on August 19 and 20 due to contractual obligations with GFW, and he’s expected to appear at the Impact tapings.

No word yet on what the company has planned for the former WWE star, but he’s reportedly being brought in “for a top position.”
