UPDATE: PWInsider reports that a settlement was not reached as part of the dismissal, and at no point did WWE attempt to settle the lawsuit.

WWE is a company that has to have a pretty strong legal department as they never know when a lawsuit might come their way. However, it looks like at least one lawsuit that the company has been involved with has now been dropped as F4Wonline.com reports that Buff Bagwell and Raven’s lawsuit against WWE has been dismissed.

According to the report, Bagwell and Raven had had filed a lawsuit in an attempt to open the door for wrestlers to get royalties for appearances on the WWE Network, but the lawyers representing both sides managed to reach an agreement.

WWE had previously filed a lawsuit against Raven, real name Scott Levy, claiming he had made false statements about a prior lawsuit where he and several other former WWE Superstars sued in an attempt to get WWE talents classified as employees instead of independent contractors.

The case was thrown out due to the statute of limitations, and Levy later said on Chris Jericho’s podcast that Vince McMahon had paid a judge.

Following depositions by WWE, Raven and Bagwell, the case was dismissed.

An agreement was made to drop both lawsuits with the stipulation being that WWE reserves the right to refile the lawsuit against Raven should he try to sue the company again.
