The Undertaker might have wrapped up his in-ring career at WrestleMania 33 but he put his body through a lot through his historic run with WWE. There were reports The Undertaker was putting off hip replacement surgery before WrestleMania, and it looks like he might finally be getting what he needs.
The Sun reports The Undertaker (real name Mark Calaway) and his wife, Michelle McCool have arrived in New York City’s David H Koch Pavilion Hospital for Special Surgery on 575 East 70th Street in Manhattan.
The hospital is listed as the best hospital in the country for orthopaedics and second in the country in rheumatology by US News. Therefore The Undertaker looks like he is going to be in good hands. But it is still a very complicated and invasive procedure.
It is believed The Undertaker is set to undergo a series of procedures in an attempt to correct the years of damage his body has gone through for our entertainment. When The Undertaker lost his supposed final WWE match to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, it was a sad day indeed. But the silver lining might be that The Dead Man will finally get the surgeries he so desperately needs.
When The Undertaker’s WrestleMania winning streak was broken by Brock Lesnar in New Orleans many thought it was a mistake. But, Roman Reigns put a cap on that this year when he left Taker’s WrestleMania record at 23-2.
There is some thought The Undertaker character is dead and we will never see him again. From now on it might be possible WWE fans will only see Mark Calaway.
Bruce Prichard said he believes The Undertaker hasn’t wrestled his last match in WWE. There are others who believe this as well. In spite of people who believe The Undertaker’s career isn’t over with quite yet, it looks like he might need to take it easy for a while.
